We have read repeatedly in the Bible of God’s faithfulness to the Jews. And we might ask “Why?”
Out of the depths of the Persian Gulf Region, God called one man named Abram from a small town of the Chaldees called “Ur,” literally, “the land of light.” He chose Abram, of whom we know very little about except for his life after God had chosen him. We do know of his lineage and bloodline though.
The early heritage of the bloodline that became The Chosen People is found within the genealogies of Genesis 10 and 11. There, the reader can follow the lines of Noah’s sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth. In particular, Shem, whose name transitions to “Semite,” and the Tribes of Jacob, the Semitic lineage that they still carry today in the 23rd Century A.D!
There are many names listed in those two chapters of Genesis, and some have history as enemies of the Jews. It is also worthy to note that a geographic shift in the land is noted there in the 5th generation of Noah’s descendants.

Gen. 10:25 – “And unto Eber were born two sons: the name of one was Peleg; for in his days was the Earth divided; and his brother’s name was Joktan.”
For this to be noted in the Word of God, it must have been a big event! The year would have been about 2350 B.C. The hydraulic pressure from the waters of the flood would have had a 100-year effect on the Earth’s single land masse which is chronicled in the books of many archaeological/tectonic plate studies. The name of the single land masse prior to the flood was “Pangea.” Fissures opened up between what we now call Africa, and North and South America.
With the Americas drifting westward, could we be the “lost city of Atlantis?” And if so, we are not lost! Maybe, and maybe not… But there is a Biblical record of a great land divide in Genesis, during the days of Peleg, and that is the point I am trying to make. God has recorded things on and in the Earth that seem to be fantastic to us, too large, and sometimes too small to imagine.
Now think about this: God has a plan for that separated land mass. Are we part of that plan? Or did it sink into the ocean, never to be seen again?

Genesis 12:1 & Various Scripture Texts - "Covenant and Adoption"
Back in Genesis God promises Abram that He “will make you a great nation.” Abram would be the father of that great nation, fulfilled in the Jewish people and the nation of Israel through the birth of Isaac. God’s covenant with Abram was that He would bless those who bless thee, and curse those who curse thee, and that all the families of the earth would be blessed through Abram’s seed.
In the division of land masses, and peoples, in ancient times, God already had a plan for mankind in place. A covenant that would not be broken. A promise of salvation and redemption for those who put their faith and trust in Him. That redemption would come through His Son, Jesus Christ.
Israel has not been cast aside forever. They have sinned, but through their sin God is ushering the Gentiles into salvation. God has worked Israel’s transgression to richly benefit the Gentiles, and He will work to restore Israel to Himself.
