The headlines in the media affirm scripture: from 2 Timothy 3:13 - "But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived." The proof of this verse is in the fruit of the lives of many of our elected officials, and those that put their stamp of approval on ungodly acts.
It seems that more leaders of various organizations than not, government officials, and yes, even members of the clergy are being brought up short, and being directly charged with criminal offenses. It comes as no surprise that the public has become disenchanted on so many levels with corruption running rampant in every echelon of our culture.
From abortion policies, to sexual immorality and pedophilia, from abuses of technological advances, and the distribution of fentanyl causing so many deaths among our younger population, we can only assume that the "heads" of our culture are sick. Therefore, the culture is sick too!
"And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil." (John 3:19). The leaders of the world's societies and cultures, nations, and ethnicities are more than willing to repay their supporters by legalizing the most heinous acts. Incredible! We should certainly be crying out to God, "LORD, COME QUICKLY, MARANATHA!"
Evil in the world has always been a fact of life. The Holy Spirit, though, has always kept it in check, and often, out-of-sight. That's no longer the case. The Holy Spirit is allowing us to see the things that rest in the hearts of men. That so many clergy are being exposed as child molesters reminds us that "judgment must begin at the house of God" (1 Peter 4:17). The very ones looked to as holy, religious examples of the church are now being exposed.
Surely the Holy Spirit is no longer roofing sin over with silence. 2 Thessalonians 2:7 - "For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way." "The" wicked one shall be revealed then. What will be the world opinion of our leaders? And what will the world require of them? A bumper sticker 1 saw sums it up:
"THE END IS NEAR"
It is time to take a stand!
